William 'Colossus/Fatty' Foulke

Foulke was a giant of man weighing over 20 stone and standing at 6ft 3in. Playing in net there wasn’t much room either side of him to aim for, he played over 300 times for united and helped in their win of the first division title in 1902. He was famous for being an intimidating presence in the back line and would have no qualms about throwing his weight around if such opportunity should arise. Foulke is also remembered for breaking the crossbar at his time at Bradford in an attempt to save a shot. Despite moving to Chelsea he is fondly remembered amongst fans of United.
