Pressman amassed 451 appearances during a 20 year spell at Hillsborough. Over a 10 year period he was in and out of the first team until the 1993/94 season in which he secured the number one position. He was a graduate of the Sheffield Wednesday youth academy in 1984. He was renowned as being one of the best ever goalkeepers to grace the Premiership throughout the 1990’s and went on to represent England at B team level. Pressman was an extremely agile goalkeeper who was also an excellent shot stopper. He was released by Wednesday at the end of the 2003-04 season and went on to join Stoke City.
