Don Megson
Don Megson originally joined Wednesday as an outside left however settled into a strong, combative full back. He joined from Cheshire side Mossley as an amateur for a fee of £50. His debut was against Burnley in 1959 in which he partnered Peter Johnson in defence. During his time at Hillsborough he played a number of important games one of which was where he captained the side in their 1966 F.A Cup final loss at Wembley. As well as this he also represented an English league select side in 1960 against an Italian league select. After amassing 442 for Wednesday he left to join Bristol Rovers as their Player/Coach.
