Harry Johnson 1916-30
Born and Bred in Sheffield, not only was Johnson a local lad, his father had also played for United. He like many young men of his generation served in the forces during the First World War. Johnson was also true to Sheffield’s industrial heritage and worked in the Hadfield’s steel works and had to ask for permission to play for united from his bosses but this did not hinder his playing career showing the strong links between the two organisations.
